Re: Rep. John Kyl, Poster Child for Throwing the Bums Out
We could all agree that there are no "good" vs. "bad" guys in Congress.
But just as we might throw out food partly poisonous, it appears it's time to get rid of incumbents who worked with their political party as a THINK TANK to ruin our good ole' USA.
It's time to rid the federal govenment of one-party politics and return to the foundations of our government created by our Founding Fathers, one of checks-and-balances.
Jon Llewellyn Kyl was born in Oakland, Nebraska. He was the son of an Iowa Congressman, and worked as an attorney and lobbyist. Jon Kyl advertises that he married and fathered two children in his run for Arizona's Congress.
Congress reports minimum wage for Congress members is
$165,000. a year. Many of Jon Kyl's staff are paid more money than most
working class workers. It appears Kyl never knew what it was like to
worry about where he'd get the money for gas to get to work or to feed or house his children. Perhaps never having to worry about paying for his children's medical bills allows Jon Kyl to vote to spend $300 MILLION dollars a day in Iraq, without worry for our children's futures. Perhaps, Jon Kyl knows HIS children will never have to worry about minimum wage or being LEFT BEHIND.
Jon Kyl advertises he's a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he chairs the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Technology and Homeland Security. Who do we hold responsible for Kyl's party ignoring obvious warnings about Osama bin Laden attacking the U.S.? Jon Kyl advertises his loyalty to his party leaders -- the same persons who DID NOTHING for more than an hour as the United States was under attack on September 11, 2001.
On the morning of September 11, Bob Graham, Porter Goss and Jon Kyl (who were part of the Congressional delegation to Pakistan) were having breakfast on Capitol Hill with General Ahmad, the alleged "money-man" behind the 9-11 hijackers. Who was responsible for investigating this relationship? If we can't depend on persons within a party to represent citizen interests, it appears we need to clean house and break up the one-party cover-ups.
Who was responsible for the YEARS of GOP knowledge of a congressman using his office and power to target minor children as a sexual predator, as the former congressman tries to excuse his criminal and immoral behavior by reporting he's an alcoholic...no, a former victim...no, a homosexual. Could anyone imagine if all the drunks, former victims, or "gay" men preyed on our kids? Foley and his party appear to have more excuses than Bayer has aspirin! Anytime anyone in the one governing party commits a crime, it is followed by a SCARE or MOVIE STAR SCANDAL rather than ensuring government leaders abide by laws.
Jon Kyl's party DID NOTHING as hundreds of thousands lived without food, clothing, shelter, water or clung to rooftops for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 days as we watched Hurricane Katrina on every news' channel. Did Jon Kyl or his party accept ANY responsibility for tragic leadership mistakes, or did Jon Kyl say nothing as a representative of the people?
Jon Kyl and his party voted to deny Guantanamo detainees rights that we would DEMAND if our soldiers were caught. Kyl co-sponsored legislation that would give illegal aliens up to five years to leave the country, even though the Federal laws were violated. In 1986, Kyl supported legislation providing amnesty for more than 2.7 million illegal entrants while doing little to secure the U.S.-Mexico border. Hasn't Jon Kyl been given enough chances to act as a US representative of the people? It's time for a change.
It's time for a change because U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl made a life or death decision by voting against funding for body armor for our soldiers in Iraq. Jon Kyl never served in the military and it won't be his Kristine or John Kyl children dying because of it. Jon Kyl voted for 2001 and 2003 tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans (himself). Jon Kyl has been voting to under-fund Social Security; it won't be HIS family eating bird seed for food during their elderly years.
Jon Kyl voted to secretly monitor MILLIONS of Americans who we KNOW must all be secretly helping Al-Queda (but are allowing KNOWN terrorists to enter US borders due to inept leadership). And, we sure are grateful for Jon Kyl's Family Values of banning Internet gambling as we allow state lottery and casino gambling all over the U.S.
Jon Kyl said, "Real leadership means tackling tough problems ourselves and not leaving them to our children." For once we agree. The citizens of AZ are clearly ready for a change. THROW THE BUMS OUT!
