CNN.COM... or
RNCNN.COM?
by Dave "Doctor" Gonzo

May 1, 2001 -- Washington, D.C. (APJP) -- The Doc will make this quick.

This morning, he fired up the ol' Thinkpad of Love, which automatically downloads all of his Spam (and a few mail messages) and launches his Web browser, the super-flexible Opera browser, which allows the user to display pages from a multitude of sites -- among which was the home page of CNN.com.

For the last few days, The Doc has made it a point to down a quick swig of Maalox before checking out the news -- those cloying "100 Days" graphics on a large number of news sites had become a chronic cause of sour stomach.

The Doc had assumed that the press would be taking at least a short break from singing the praises of the smirking, simian pretender.

Well, fuhgeddaboudit.

The actual "Plug Missile Defense
as Visionary" graphic, as seen at
RNC... er, CNN.COM

There, near the top of CNN's home page, was a garish graphic of His Fraudulence, a missile firing over his shoulder, with the caption "A VISION FOR SECURITY."

Now, had The Doc logged onto, say, a Republican Party page, a similar propagandist portrait would come as no surprise.

But CNN?

So The Doc sends out a big dis to CNN.COM and chief "A-OLe" Steve Case for outdoing even the FAUX News Channel as a conduit for RNC misinformation as the former Texas governor's so-called "vision for security" invites global destabilization.

'Nuff said.
