Honorless Has-been Dick Cheney lies to the Republican Convention and America

Wednesday, August 2, 2000 -- PHILADELPHIA -- Lynne Cheney rose to introduce her husband as the man she -- and the rest of the millionaires and corporate whores on the floor of the GOP Convention -- loves. Perhaps Cheney would have made a good Vice President, but if you look at his record -- or lack thereof -- you might think differently.

The wife tells us his favorite pastime was visiting battlefields and that her favorite pastime is reading cheap mystery novels -- a laughable line from the hag who told the world that the United States should eliminate the National Endowment to the Humanities, when she was Chair-thing of the Endowment.

The Cheneys are to be reckoned with. Lynn lives in a dream world -- which does not include her daughter Mary, a proud and out Lesbian who must have gone through hell to be the daughter of these two mean-spirited Republican thugs.

Dick spent 10 years in the House and voted against banning cop killer bullets, voted against Head Start, voted against programs for the poor and the aging, voted against the elderly in favor the pharmaceutical industry, and didn't care because he could afford the finest surgeons and drugs -- on your tax dollars.

Dick Cheney is the man who urged the other oil producing nations to RAISE the price of oil so that he and his company, Halliburton -- and oil drilling tools company -- could make lots more money.

This moron actually sold the line that if he hadn't helped raise oil prices in the United States, no person would have invested in drilling for and processing oil.

In short, he thinks you are a moron.

In fact, the conniving and the stupid that make up the majority of revelers on the floor of the COMCAST center. It was once an arena not named after a corporation that charges more people than you would ever imagine $100 a month to watch commercials on television. -- but an arena owned by the people.

Cheney, never having served in the military, magically became the Secretary of Defense and then made sure his wife got a series of cushy jobs while he and BushDaddy fought a losing war in Iraq. He and Bush lost it on purpose to make certain that didn't kill the goose -- Saddam Hussein -- that laid the golden egg -- OIL for both of them and the baby Bush, who would soon rise from drunkenness, women and drug stupors to become the Governor of Texas by buying his way in, cheating his way through school and cheating justice.

Like father, like son.

Cheney is uninspiring. He is hateful. He cannot smile.

Someone in the audience is shining a laser pointed on his head and on the breast pocket of his suit. It is funny -- but not so funny when one thinks about what will happen to this heckler when the secret service gets hold of him!

God, he is boring. He is talking about schools -- while all the time he has been in government he has voted time and again to defund education programs and to destroy and eliminate the Department of Education.

He says there has been little prosperity in the current administration -- a lie. He manages to crack a Dracula-like smile when he talks of Bill Clinton's last hour. He is arrogant for nothing -- he was a slacker in school and in college and lost a scholarship because he, like George W., preferred to waste his benefactor's money -- proudly, mind you, while he laid around campus sneering.

Dick Cheney is a bad pick for VP -- a bad pick -- and as the crowd goes into its ecstatic throes of orgasm over the lackluster man, one is reminded of the crowds in Berlin and Nuremberg in the 1930s.

Cheney -- who knows better -- claims that Bush Jr., the little felon, the draft dodger that posed as a war hero, the cheat, the drunk and the coke freak, "will restore dignity to the White House."

He says Bush will show that national leaders can keep their word. Yes -- Bush will keep his word all right -- to Eli Lilly, Merck, SmithKline Beecham, and all the others who are robbing the poor to line their pockets with gold.

Cheney lies -- telling us about the great educational system in Texas -- rated last in the nation. He talks up the phony Rand study which says that blacks and other minorities are improving faster in Texas than anywhere else.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's easy to improve when you start with zero, because of four years of being ignored by Bush while he drank his way around the state.

He says that Bush got rid of "trial lawyers" by banning "petty" lawsuits -- but won't tell you that these would have been you suing HMO's for killing your child.

Cheney remarks on the only thing Bush can even pretend to offer -- to become a Democrat, and reach out across the isle to Democrats -- not like Bill Clinton, who refused to reach out to the Neo-Nazis in the House Republican leadership -- all ignoramuses, as we all are too well aware.

He is weary of the "Clinton-Gore" routine, yet he accepts his million dollar salary and stock options which he couldn't have hoped to get under ether Reagan or Bush.

"It is time for them to go," he says like a punk rebel without a cause.

He accuses the Democrats of being what the GOP has in truth stood for through the last 10 years: race-baiting, accusers of non-scandals, liars and cheats, thieves and corporate welfare daddies.

He says that Democrats and Clinton-Gore are liars and cheats.

He claims Clinton-Gore have done nothing to help this nation's children -- when he knows that it is the Republican leadership that cut all school programs, tried to push charter schools for WHITE children and parading around one of two black heads of charter schools who got funded despite him.

He smiles like Martin Bohrmann.

And the idiots cheer him on -- they know if they can pull off this scam, they will be able to write their own ticket into the White House.

He says that Clinton-Gore only talked about education and did nothing about it.

As I recall, Clinton-Gore tried everything -- and Cheney's knowledge-hating confederates vetoed every bill.

He has the simpering gall to talk about Clinton-Gore shirking their duties to the elderly. What a piece of crap this man is. His party, and he, have been working against the poor and elderly with HMOs and pharmaceutical companies for nine long years. They pummeled Clinton for his attempts to give 40 million American children and the elderly poor without insurance some medical coverage, calling Bill and Hillary Clinton "socialists" because he was afraid that his kind would have to pay the bill.

Now Cheney puts on the entire mantle of the Democratic Party -- attempting to fool American voters into thinking that all along it was the GOP who was looking out for the poor, the undereducated and the minority.

Will American swallow his crock of crap?

Of course not.

He says that "our men and women in uniform" will have a commander in chief they can respect! I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing! Sure, the latest polls of the military shows that most of these men and women would slit BushBaby's throat for the way he connived his way to the front of the line -- using his Daddy -- so he would never have to serve in Vietnam.

Who did he kill when he did this, Dick? Which one of the other young men waiting to hide in the Air National Guard to avoid the meat grinder war that Nixon had served up when he bombed Cambodia?

We have been looking --- but the Air National Guard seems to have lost all the records on the Young Bush -- except for all the happy-news press clippings -- and is "not sure" that his taking off for a year without telling anyone -- so he could avoid being tested for drug abuse -- was really AWOL as most in the military say.

The hall is filled with men and women who never served in the military. These are the moron elitists of America -- whose Daddies got them out of draft so they could cheer on the black and Hispanic men sent to their deaths in Southeast Asia -- black and Hispanic men who didn't have connected daddies who used to run the CIA.

And what about the father -- guilty of the worst felony one could commit -- treason, trading arms for hostages and selling cocaine to do it? He got off, didn't he -- with that little worm Cap Weinberger.

What a snob Cheney is -- he claims that George W. will defeat "Clinton's Vice President" and HE will replace him. He doesn't say it with humor -- he is serious -- he is insane with the lust for power.

He says we are "so privileged to be citizens of this great Republic." Well we are -- he and I -- because we are white and wealthy.

But what about the rest of America -- the forgotten America -- the mental patients that the mental patient now -- Ronald Reagan -- threw into the streets and alleys of our major cities? What about the Hispanics -- 500,000 of them -- who sleep with rats in the Colonias of George W. Bush.

He talks about his privileged life flying in his private jet into private military airports and claims that he never passed over the National Cemetery without thinking about the terrible price thousands paid -- while he dodged the draft, as others died to make certain HE could live in freedom.

He claims that he and George Bush are GREAT leaders and that the two goofballs with restore HONOR and Courage to this great Republic.

It's time to puke.

He is a cold, arrogant old man who will do little more for George W.

I was headed up to the press boxes. I stuck my head in the CNN suite. The moronic Judy Woodruff, on screen with Bernie Shaw, says that he has "delivered a speech, from a soft spoken man, that delivered a walloping speech."

Yes, Judy -- another salvo of hatred to the soldiers of making the powerful more powerful.

Has-been Jeff Greenfield agrees -- in awe -- with Judy.

It was unbelievable These people are such losers, such pathetic wannabe insightful, proud men and women. In fact, they are creating a fiefdom where the rich rule and the poor die.

God help America.

Some bearded singer sings "Proud To Be an American" -- and we are sure Willie Nelson threw up.
